About you
Due to the continuous growth of our Vifor Pharma group, we are searching for an IT Security Officer to develop, implement and manage the overall enterprise process for the IT security strategy and associated IT architecture standards on an international level. In this key role you will report directly into the Head of Global IT and will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Drive IT Security Strategy / Policy definition and implementation
  • Develop an environment which fosters a high attention on IT security aspects
  • Serve as a mentor and role model; maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and behavior in dealings with staff, colleagues, customers and outside contacts
  • Collaborate with other IT and business managers on a global level and work closely with business partners in understanding and responding to both long-term and short-term business goals and strategy
  • Challenge business partners and push back when necessary to ensure the IT Security standards respond to business needs while being cost-efficient at the same time
  • Advise and support the executive management with defining their specific IT security requirements and promote desired behavior in regard to security awareness through trainings etc.
  • Collaborate and negotiate effectively with external partners
  • Ensure the continuous improvement, rationalization and management of existing IT Security standards and services
  • Identifies and communicate risks, and proposes and implements appropriate action
  • Oversee the continuous monitoring and protection of IT systems
  • Evaluate suspected security breaches and recommend corrective actions (including incidents involving outside vendors)
  • Serve as the enterprise focal point for security incident response planning and execution
  • Define, identify and classify critical assets, assess threats and vulnerabilities regarding those assets, and implement safeguard recommendations
  • Perform internal Security Audits
  • Establish and monitor formal certification programs regarding enterprise security standards relating to the planned acquisition and/or procurement of new applications or technologies
  • Assist in the review of applications and/or technology environments
  • Oversee the development of the enterprise corporate security awareness and training program

For this important and challenging role, we are looking for an experienced and solution-oriented candidate, who brings excellent conceptual and analytical skills as well as a structured but proactive and hands-on approach. The following requirements complete the profile we are searching for:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information Security / Technology or a similar profile
  • Further education in Information Security, such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information System Auditor (CISA)
  • Sound knowledge and work experience in the field of IT Security and Technology
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar function coordinating teams
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is seen as a big advantage
  • Strong process orientation and customer focus while operating on different levels of hierarchy
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English on a business level; fluency in German would be a plus
  • Good understanding of GxP and other relevant regulations, such as data privacy
