About you

In this function, you report directly to the General Manager of Switzerland and lead the Market Access department in our Swiss Commercial Affiliate. Your goal is the local development and implementation of Patient Access strategies to ensure that Vifor’s pipeline products are available to patients with minimal barriers to adoption and at appropriate reimbursement rates. You work collaboratively with local cross-functional teams to prioritize and develop compelling evidence to support local Market Access strategies. This consists of development of effective value propositions and strategies to work with physicians, patients, providers and payers at the country level during pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases of a product’s lifecycle. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Develop Patient Access strategies including innovative pricing/access approaches that align with franchise strategy
  • Work with internal and external experts to identify and understand unmet payer and policymaker needs for assigned product lines and/or markets
  • Shape and influence healthcare policies to improve Patient Access by leveraging best practices, existing evidence, and/or by working with Clinical, Medical Affairs and HEOR teams to create new evidence
  • Create Patient Access toolkits for use at the country level and trains local Patient Access teams on appropriate use of these materials
  • Coordinate with the local Market & Innovation Policy team and guide local resources with respect to messaging of policy positions and other Patient Access content to elected officials/legislators
  • Contribute to the development of strategic marketing plans which consider all relevant stakeholder groups
  • Establish relationships with key external stakeholders
  • Manage a small team of Market access specialists/ managers and maintain a close collaboration with the global Pricing team

For this role, we are looking for a candidate with excellent leadership and communication skills, bringing the following competencies:

  • Master or PhD in Healthcare Discipline or Business Management
  • At least 8 years of experience in patient access or healthcare marketing
  • Depth knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system (marketing, government affairs/public policy, patient advocacy, pricing, reimbursement, medical affairs)
  • Proven experience in Stakeholders’ management
  • Experience in people management is a plus
  • German or French as mother tongue, with very good knowledge of the second language as well as of English both in written and spoken conversation

You demonstrate a strong customer orientation and feel comfortable in a leader position, where you make decisions and take initiatives to move things forward. You are an innovative, determined and assertive person, who is able to work efficiently on his own as well as in cross-functional teams. You have a proven record in defining market access strategies and in negotiation with different functions. Your negotiation ability, analytical skills and strategic thinking enable you to achieve performance.
