In this position you will play a key role in shaping the future of our modular, scalable, and intelligent solutions for the food and feed, pharmaceutical, chemical, and research sectors. In an interdisciplinary team, you define the system architecture, coordinate interfaces across optics, electronics, mechanics, firmware, and software, and ensure seamless integration of NIR sensor technologies.What makes your everyday life exciting?Develop and document the system architecture for NIR spectroscopy devices.Translate stakeholder needs into structured system requirements and specifications, ensuring traceability and alignment throughout the development process.Specify detectors and signal processing chains, and perform system simulations, including optical, electrical, and thermal, to validate and optimize the design.Define and execute verification and validation (V&V) strategies to ensure system performance, quality, and compliance with applicable standards.Set up and conduct functional tests on prototypes and analyze results using Python-based tools and custom scripts.Support production and product lifecycle management by resolving technical issues, optimizing components, and managing changes and obsolescence.What skills do you need to bring?University degree in natural sciences or engineering (e.g. physics, optics, electronics, systems engineering) with deep knowledge of optical systems, spectroscopy, and/or sensor technologiesProfessional experience (several years) in system architecture, systems engineering, or interdisciplinary development projects, for sure a plus in NIR spectroscopy or adjacent fields.Experience with requirements management, system specification, and verification and validation (V&V) processes.Skills in system modelling and simulation (optical, electrical, mechanical or thermal) and hands-on experience with prototype development, testing, and analysis.Excellent structured communication skills in English, both written and spoken (German in addition is an advantage).Programming knowledge/experience and good understanding of software architecture methods.What can we offer you?We offer you an innovative technology environment that combines the values of a Swiss family business with the internationality of a global group structure.
